Our Into Leadership External Mentoring Programme provides access and developmental opportunities to female members of the House of Commons and Lords staff. Mairi secured top female leaders from across The City and Westminster to act as mentors for a selected few members of the House of Commons Parliagender Network.
Mairi said: “It is incredible to have such amount of talent in the same room at the same time, it really is genuinely unique and inspiring to witness the inspiration and knowledge shared between the mentors and mentees.”
These mentors meet with their 3 mentees once per month over a 3 month period to offer guidance on career navigation, confidence builders, skills analysis and strategy for working towards getting women into more senior posts in Government.
One of our participants said: “It has given me the opportunity to ask and answer questions about my future career that would otherwise not have happened. It has also given me the opportunity to analyse my behaviours and address negative feelings about myself. It has also provided me with support that has enable the confidence to realise that anything is possible.”
