How to manage negative thoughts

Here at SceneChange we know negative thoughts can make our working a day a real struggle. It’s easy to become overwhelmed, start to think negatively about the situation – we sometimes even manifest our feelings physically through anxiety. Managing negative thoughts requires practice and some mental rehearsal. Here’s how:

Take a three-minute break. Close your eyes and relax your body. Play the situation in your mind and immerse yourself in a positive outcome. See yourself dealing with your emotions in a calm and easy manner with a positive, successful outcome.

In psychology this is referred to as Ideal Self Image, which is an exercise used to work on confidence, competence, and success. It’s used by sports stars, performers, artists, speakers and business leaders.
